MBP worked with CessCon Decom to document the decommissioning of offshore oil and gas infrastructure at the Energy Park Fife in Methil. The facility was designed to receive major offshore assets for onshore dismantling, processing and recycling, with a focus on recovering and reusing materials wherever possible.
Taking place over 12 months, the project required a very different approach to a conventional industrial shoot. MBP installed long-term timelapse systems to capture the complete transformation of the site, documenting huge offshore structures as they arrived at the yard and were progressively dismantled and processed.
Alongside the timelapse, our crews returned throughout the project to capture key stages on the ground and from the air, combining close-up filming with drone footage to communicate both the detail and sheer scale of the operation.
The resulting content condensed a year-long industrial process into a visual record of offshore decommissioning in action, showing structures built for decades of service being systematically broken down and their materials recovered for reuse and recycling.
