Say hello to our Operational Coordinator, Emerson!

What is your job title? Operational Coordinator

What is your go-to coffeeshop order? Americano black, extra shot.

What do you enjoy most about working at MBP? Considering the world we’ve been living in, the simple activity of going to the office is wonderful. Also, the people are lovely. This helps.

Favourite line from a movie? ‘Why are you wearing that stupid man suit?’ — Donnie Darko.

What’s on your playlist recently? In alphabetical order (thanks, Spotify!): The Antlers, Bill Callahan, Billie Eilish, Grizzly Bear, Jeff Tweedy, The Microphones, Sufjan Stevens, Sunset Rubdown, The Walkman.

What do you do when you are not working?

Trying to keep up with a 10 year old who is way smarter than me.

Trying to keep up with my wife who is way smarter than me.

Trying to keep up with my dog who…

As you know, we are big music lovers here at MBP. Tell us, what is the first concert you attended? My first actual gig was Suzanne Vega in the mid-80s, though I’m quite certain my parents took me to see Pink Floyd when I was tiny. I may be imagining that.

What is something that might surprise us about you? I have no sense of smell or taste.

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why? New York. I’ve been a few times over the last few years, and was married there. It seems such a cliche of a City — everything is as it is in the movies yet that’s what makes it, for a cinephile like me, utterly spellbinding. I’d choose Brooklyn over Manhattan — it’s warm and friendly and homely and everything you’d imagine Manhattan not being. They compliment each other perfectly making New York more than a cliche.

Three words to describe MBP? Warm. Creative. Engaging.
